The book Everything Begins And Ends At The Kentucky Club by Benjamin Alire Saenz has been a pretty great read. I love how the story is broken up into many parts but never gets off topic. My first reaction to the book’s cover was that it would be a boring and not interesting. However, as I started to read and get into the book, I was surprised at how interested I was and how the book pulled me in. For example, in the short story “ The Hunting Game” you find out a lot about the main character and their lover. “ I thought gay men were suppose to be softer.” Just from this detail you find out that the main character is a man and also a homosexual. In the beginning of the book they do not tell you these things. That is what makes this a great book. The author keeps us in suspense the whole book by hiding the main characters identity. Adding suspense keeps the reader involved and turns a good book into a great book.
