Our class decided to read A Walk to Remember, by Nicholas Sparks during the second advisory. The novel takes place in Beaufort, North Carolina during the late 1950s. Landon Carter is fifty-eight as he recounts his story of falling in love at seventeen with Jamie Sullivan, the minister’s daughter. Their love grows as the story progresses; the climax takes place when Jamie admits to Landon that she has leukemia and he asks her to marry him. In the end, she dies, but not before helping him to grow up, and to realize the beauty and pain of life. This novel made me feel heartbroken when I read the line, “I’m dying, Landon” (163). (Although I did predict that Jamie would have a tragic end because of the exposition of the book). At first, I was not sure if the book would be an awful cliché about love, but I thought that the author did a good job creating emotion and the characters in a unique way. My favorite part of the book was the production of the Christmas pageant-- Jamie plays the angel and Landon plays the man that the angel helps through the heartbreak of loosing his wife. The imagery that Sparks creates as he describes Jamie is remarkable, but it also represents a turning point on how Landon views Jamie. I wondered how much longer Jamie lived after Landon stops telling the story although it is implied that she only lives for a short time after they marry. All in all, I enjoyed reading A Walk to Remember and would like to read more novels by Nicholas Sparks in the future.
Having just read A Walk to Remember, by Nicholas Sparks, I write this blog with a heavy heart and next to a box of tissues. As promised, the journey I have taken through this book has made me laugh and has made me cry. The two main characters of the story are Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan. Though their journey together begins with Landon’s desperate need for a date to the Home Coming dance, their feelings grow with each passing day. As Landon slowly realizes and then tells Jamie he loves her, Jamie breaks the news to Landon – she is dying of leukemia. Landon and the rest of their small town – Beaufort, North Carolina – pray for a miracle as Jamie slowly becomes weaker and weaker. Jamie once told Landon that what she wants more than anything else is to get married, so, before it is too late, Landon proposes. Jamie’s father, Reverend Sullivan, weds the two at his Baptist church and in doing so finally accepts Landon into the family. Jamie has brought her father and Landon’s parents together, even though their relationship has been rough for a very long time. Jamie has impacted the town so greatly that few people will ever forget her, or her optimistic views of God and the world around her.
The best part of the story was the fact that the ending surprised me. I dislike books that are very predictable, but this one was everything I had hoped for. Once I got started, it was nearly impossible for me to put this book down, and even though I read it with a box of tissues in my lap, I enjoyed reading every word of it. My first reactions to the story are that this is one of the sweetest and well written books I have ever read. The author kept me on the edge of my seat and made the book interesting by not always spelling everything out for his reader.
Love may be as timeless as a moon rise, but this story would not be the same in any other day and age. I thought that the story was perfect and sweet; and although the ending caught me a little by surprise, I cannot imagine it ending any differently. I do have a few questions about the book. For starters, this story takes place in the 1950s, and I was wondering if the time period is important to the story. I know that today we have medicine that probably would be able to cure Jamie, and this would certainly alter the story, but besides that could a love story this sweet and innocent take place today? I hope so. Next, Landon says that he has never taken off the ring that Jamie gave him, and I find it sad to think of Landon being alone forever. How important to the story is it that Landon not remarry? Finally, I would like to know if Landon ever makes up for his Grandfather’s sins in cheating people out of their money.
Nicholas Sparks’ A Walk to Remember is a heartbreaking book that you can’t pull your eyes away from. Taking place in Beaufort, North Carolina, the novel poses an experience of everlasting love. The main character is Landon, a boy of 17. The book follows him through his senior year of high school, revealing all his loves and hates. The school year starts off with Landon just elected class president and wondering how to get a date for the homecoming dance. The only girl left that Landon could possible ask in Jamie Sullivan, a very conservative, religious girl intent on only following her faith. As it turns out, this is Landon and Jamie’s first real experience together. As the year progress different events and conversations lead Landon and Jamie together. Finally one day Landon tells Jamie he loves her, after which Jamie breaks down, telling Landon that she has leukemia. Both of them hug and cry for a long time, while terrible depressing and saddening thoughts race through Landon’s head. After weeks of Jamie slowly suffering Landon knows what he must do. He asks Jamie to marry him. Jamie’s father, a minister who has always disliked Landon’s family because of a financial problem, agrees and marries them himself.
I could not stop reading this book. The ending was so perfect yet almost surprising. I would have never guessed that Landon and Jamie would get married. Sparks portrayed their love so well that you could feel as if you were one of them. After reading this book I wondered exactly how much longer Jamie had lived. I also was left wondering if Landon ever married again. Another event that surprised me was the way Eric and Margaret came and apologized, and also the way Eric kept on being Landon’s friend even during the hard times. This book was unforgettable and I hope to read many more like it.
A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks is a suspenseful, tragic love story that is impossible to close. Landon Carter, now fifty-eight years old, reminisces about his senior year of high school-- the most hectic and life-changing senior year anyone has ever had, to be exact.
Landon begins his year with a regular, boring life until he decides to run for student council and ends up becoming class president. To him, it is just something to do so he can apply to college with extracurricular activities on his resume; but it ends up leading to a whole lot more than that. After searching through the year book for hours, Landon is forced to ask Jamie Sullivan; a conservative, religious, optimistic girl; to the Homecoming dance so he will not look like a loser. Jamie has never had any friends except for her dad despite how kind she is to everyone she meets, and Landon was one of the people who made fun of her and thought it was just plain strange for someone to be that kind. But he progressively begins to like her as they walk home together, have more conversations, and eventually act in the school play together-- that is the change from like to love for Landon. He plays a heartbroken, widowed man who is helped by an angel, who Jamie is playing. The second she steps on stage Landon and the reader are in awe at her beauty that Nicholas Sparks portrays. Landon is so in love, it hits him (and me) really hard when Jamie breaks the news that she is dying from leukemia right after he tells her he loves her. Landon knows he has to make the best of the situation no matter how tragic it is, so he marries Jamie in a huge ceremony that almost the whole town attends and is, surprisingly, lead by Reverend Sullivan (Jamie's father); Jamie's ultimate goal in life was to get married.
A Walk to Remember made me laugh and cry just like my classmates said, and it is so sweet that Landon wears his wedding ring for the rest of his life. When he is explaining this though, in his fifty-eight year old perspective, Landon says "I now believe, by the way, that miracles can happen," and that threw me a little off track. I am not sure if that means Jamie is still alive, which is obviously a miracle, or if Landon is referring to meeting and getting to know Jamie. I definitely want to read more books by Nicholas Sparks, and I will always remember A Walk to Remember.
I thought A Walk to Remember was a very good book. The main characters are Jamie and Landon who are deeply in love in the fifties. This story has a sad ending which is foreshadowed throughout that book. At the begging I thought the book would be good but it was slow it getting to the main point. This book inspired me and showed me about love and death. I cried when I read the book which I do not usually do when ready tragic stories. It inspired me because I feel like people take things for granted. The reason I believe this is because the main character, Jamie, is selfless and she never took things for granted. Landon the boy whom Jamie loves takes things for granted until he falls in love with Jamie. I love the way A Walk to Remember is written very well and even though it is a love stories it is believable. I really loved this book not only because it involves love but because it really does push you to be a better person and it has many life lessons. The book, even though fictional, makes a person wonder why bad things happen to good people. This story is different than most I read because usually I prefer happy stories, but I believe this book is truly touching. I would love to read more of Nicholas Sparks stories because a good author can make you understand life I little bit more. Though A Walk to Remember is a sad story it is a very good one.
The award for the most unconditional love story goes to Nicholas Sparks’s A Walk to Remember. An amazing couple and an amazing time period are two aspects of this wonderful tale of a boy and a girl who fell in love even though some people did not accept it. Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter are seniors in Beaufort, North Carolina and it appears that they are not meant to be. Landon is your average teenage boy who has friends, takes the easy route, and makes fun of others that appear to not be on his level. Jamie is small, shy, religious and humble; she is everything that Landon should be, but isn’t. It all begins with Landon’s victory at becoming the student body president and the announcement of the homecoming dance; he was in desperate need of a date to go with him and it appeared that all of the girls were already taken. Asking Jamie was his last choice, but a choice that I am sure that he will never regret. From that night, Jamie began asking him to do small things like walk her home, pick up donations, and accompany her when she goes to see the children at the orphanage. During this time, Landon began to develop strong feelings for Jamie despite of what others said. Unfortunately, no matter how attached they became to one another, shocking news came out that made everyone’s heart drop into their shoes. Jamie had leukemia. Once the word spread throughout the town, a few people that were ever rude or disrespectful towards her apologized; the ones who loved her loved her more, and the people around Jamie drew closer to God. To fulfill both of their wishes, Landon proposed to Jamie even though she was becoming weaker, and weaker, and was close to her death. I cannot say that they lived happily ever after, but they were content with their lives and accepted what was coming into their future.
This sad story, but lovely nonetheless, is a great example of how people should have a never ending love for each other and how they shouldn’t judge people because they do things differently than they do. After reading this book, I still have unanswered questions. How much longer was Jamie alive before leukemia took the best of her? Did Landon ever have feelings for another girl after her? All in all, A Walk to Remember captures the true essence of love, and has taught me not to judge people, help other, and to no hold grudges; it will pay off in the end.
My favorite part about A Walk to Remember was when Landon Carter first asked Jamie to the homecoming dance. I like that part because it really shows how he really didn’t care too much about her at first and how a person’s perspective can drastically change. The story starts out introducing Landon carter as an average teenage buy. He has his friends and also has the reputation of a bad boy. Landon wants to go to the University of North Carolina but finds out that he might not get into that if he doesn’t shape up academically. His father who is a congressmen that isn’t around for Landon’s life and is disliked by Hegbert the local minister suggest makes him run for class president so he could put something on his college application. So he runs even though skeptical at first and find out that he has a chance to win the whole thing. He ends up winning the election and has to help plan, decorate, and coordinate the homecoming dance for the school. As his plans and preparation time goes down, Landon realizes that he does not have a date. He asks around and around and he realizes that there is nobody that he considers notable left. He goes to his year to find a person to take out. He flips and stops at Jamie’s picture. His views of her at first are that she is a good person that makes others look bad on accident. Being the preacher’s daughter, she has a strong connection with her religious side and believe that God has way for everything. Landon noticed in his drama class that Jamie actually did not look half bad to him so he decided to give asking her out a try even though he new that there would be a lot of teasing from his friends involved. He takes her to the dance and he realizes that he actually didn’t have to attend if he didn’t have a date. From that point on they build up a strong relationship from little activities like going to the orphanage, walking home, and making donations. The biggest activity participating in the local play at Jamie dad’s church. As Landon builds a strong love for Jamie he receives shocking news from her. She had leukemia. Towards the end of the book Landon speaks on how she was slowly dying and his love for her grows stronger. He also shares how those who once teased her felt a sense of remorse and had respect for her.
A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks is a tear-jerking story about two high school students overcoming the difficulties of trivial high school gossip, incompatible religious beliefs, and the hardships of a serious illness. Landon Carter tells his life story as a fifty-eight year old man. Every detail is clear in his memory as he takes us back on the journey of his youth that he endured with the love of his life, Jamie Sullivan.
Landon Carter, a rich congressman’s son, never saw himself falling for the minister’s daughter. In his eyes, Jamie Sullivan had always seemed plain in looks and odd in personality. Her devotion to her religion astounded her classmates, and made her alien to them. Most of her peers made fun of Jamie behind her back, including Carter. Carter took a drama class with Jamie in their senior year and performed a play with her as the co star. He slowly began falling in love with her. Unfortunately, Jamie had a dark secret. She had Leukemia. Carter and Jamie had only been in a relationship for a short time before she told him, but by then it was too late. Carter was permanently and irreversibly in love with her.
My first reaction of A Walk to Remember was that it was another of Nicholas Sparks‘ famous “tear-jerkers” (as Carter Vaughn loves to say.) In the beginning of the novel, Carter said that we would laugh first, and then cry. He was absolutely right. I thought the beginning of the story was sweet and classic. I never could have predicted that Jamie had Leukemia. Unfortunately I saw the movie first, so the end was spoiled for me. My favorite part of the book was that Carter was able to move past all the teasing and gossip his friends were spreading around, and love Jamie anyway for who she is. Also, I liked the end when Carter decided to give Jamie her dream and propose. I do not understand, however, what was going through Jamie’s head when she let Carter fall in love with her. She said toward the end of the story that she knew he would, and I do not understand the point of that. If she knew she was going to die, why did she not simply let Carter move on with his life? Overall, I think that A Walk to Remember was a very intriguing and unpredictable novel.
A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks was an excellent book. I like how the book made me very emotional. When Jamie had told Landon that she had leukemia, it had made me cry. Really I was crying for a few minutes and I had to take a short break during that time. I liked the fact that when I told myself that I would read for this certain amount of time, but I went past that time because the book made me want to read more. A Walk to Remember was never boring; it started off great – it was interesting and was a little funny to me. I thought the funniest part of the book was when Sparks was talking about Landon’s father campaign slogan. Some of the traits of the characters were funny as well. Because of this book, I really want to see the movie, which I never thought I would want to. One thing about this book that made me want to keep reading was how Landon’s feelings for Jamie would ever change. I really did not think Landon would fall for Jamie when he did on Christmas Eve at the orphanage. I thought it would take him longer because of what he and others thought about her. It also caught me by surprise when Jamie had said that when she would pray for him, she meant that she prayed they would be together. Before finding out that she had leukemia, when she had told Landon not to fall in love with her, I thought “please get over yourself” – that later changed despite she was joking about it. Because the story seemed so real, I felt a connection with it. I had wanted to know why in the end he said, “I now believe, by the way, that miracles can happen?” Why did Jamie never do anything about Landon’s insults towards her? How did Jamie know that Landon loves her hair being down instead of a bun?
A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks is a wonderful example of unexpected love. I really enjoyed this story because it shows how to people from two different environments can come to fall in love when they least expect it. The main characters Landon and Jaime are the people you would least likely expect to fall in love with each other because they are the total opposite of each other. One comes from a religious background while the other a political background. I like this book, but it is very tragic because after each falls in love with each other leukemia breaks them apart. I also liked this book because it brings you joy and it touches your heart because of the things Landon and Jamie both have to overcome to be with each other. This gives true meaning to the story and its main points. Nicholas Sparks is an exceptional writer because this story made it possible for you to feel that you were living in the 1950s. You can almost imagine the characters if they were real because they are given certain descriptions that are somewhat vivid. If I had to recommend this book to someone else I would because it shows that two people who are very different can be true love for each other in the end even if they are doubted from start to finish. Like my other classmates who read this book, I agree with them about this being an emotional book because both characters find their true love with each other and there bond remains even after death.
A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Spark was definitely a tear jerker! In the beginning, I was quite bored because it just dragged on and on about his family and friends. Toward the middle of the book, it started to speed up and talk about Jamie. Then in the end, it talked only about Jamie and Landon and their relationship. The love story was nice because it was too different people falling in love and caring for each other. It was cute and romantic and you have to cry at that and also she dies in the end because she was ill, and so I started to cry. The story line was nice and gave details and explained things to the readers. The play was cute because it was the same as Jamie’s family story. Landon accepted they was she was and didn’t try to change anything about her. I wish I could get married at age seventeen and still love her after so many years. In the beginning, Jamie was shy and timid, but in the end she was outgoing! The book was cute and was interesting!
I have a couple of questions that were never answered. First, I was wondering if Jamie was in love with Landon first because she asked him if he would do the part? Second, why did Landon wait so long to tell her how he felt? Third, I know Jamie read the bible every night, but did she ever understand it at the way she talked about it?
During the second advisory, our class chose to read A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. This book is about the bottomless love shared between Landon Carter, the son of a politician, and Jamie Sullivan, the daughter of the town preacher. The unlikely pair has known each other since childhood, but since Landon took Jamie to the homecoming dance, a romance began to sprout. Just as the relationship is achieving new heights, Jamie tells Landon that she has leukemia, blood cancer that there is no cure for at the time. Jamie starts loosing weight and is more sick and fragile than ever before. The pain she experiences is excruciating and soon, it is hard for her to stand. Landon continues to see Jamie, even though it is painful too see the one he loves in so much agony. The read the bible and the scriptures often helped Landon deal with the situation. Early, Jamie said the only thing she wants to do is get married. So, Landon goes to Jamie's father, Hegbert, and asks him for his permission to marry Jamie. Hegbert says yes and marries the two himself. Then the book leaves on cliff hanger and doesn't say whether not Jamie dies or not, but the book was great either way.
I had see the TV movie of this book, but it did no justice to Nicholas Spark's touching classic. This book show true love and the meaning of "through sickness and health. I was not thrilled to read this book because I thought it as going to be a feminine love story, but I was thoroughly proved incorrect. I would recommend this book to anybody I know. I think that anyone who thinks they are in love should read this book. This book is definition of love. On top of that, this book is a piece of golden literature and this is why I think of it so highly.
Our class decided to read A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. I had watched this movie once before when I was ten years old, too young to understand the storyline. As I was reading this book, the narrator, Landon Carter, went through many different emotions in his senior year of high school with a girl named Jamie Sullivan. Slowly but surely this book became my favorite book I have ever read. This book made me smile, laugh, sad, and at times angry, and cry like a baby. This storyline was unlike any other book I have read. The “old” Landon Carter narrated it, which was unique. The plot was all from his perspective at the time, which I liked. I love to read love storybooks that make me cry, it showed that it was a good book because showing my emotions like that rarely happen. I have two favorite parts in this book. The first one was when Jamie gave Landon her bible after he found out she was dying, and when he started reading it. Landon was never the person to be caught dead picking up a bible let alone reading it. The other favorite part is at the Christmas play. Jamie asks Landon to play in it, which he agrees. Knowing that this is a hard part to play because it is Jamie’s father’s favorite play because he can relate to it. Landon had one part in the play when he said, “you look beautiful”, but whenever he would practice it he had no passion with those three words. On the opening of night of the play Jamie had looked gorgeous, and she was dressed like never before. When it came to the part in the play when Landon said, “you look beautiful”, he took one look at her and was awestruck and said, “you look beautiful” in the most meaningful way. I like that part because it shows that despite how “cool” Landon was, he was able to see past his pride and realize the most important things in life, like love. In conclusion this is one of my favorite books, and I was overjoyed to have an opportunity to read this book. I would love to read more books that Nicholas Sparks has written anytime.
When I finished reading all my classmates blogs, two questions stood out to me. First, Daley wants to know if Landon ever makes up for his Grandfather’s sins in cheating people out of their money. I have been thinking about this question. I don’t think Landon ever did. When Jamie asked about it, Landon didn’t give her a straight answer. Landon said that he couldn’t make up for what his grandfather did to those people. I think he was right and sort of wrong. For the right reason, it wasn’t Landon who did those sins, it was his grandfather. For the wrong reason, he came from a rich family and could get the money to make it up to those people. His grandfather did a wrong thing and he should help them to make it up. Also, Landon did make it up in another way. He fell in love with Jamie and Jamie’s dad was one who Landon’s grandfather cheated. Landon made his daughter happy.
The second question is one that Catherine and Tyler wanted to know. They both asked, “Exactly how much longer did Jamie live?” I asked my mom after finishing this book, how long do most people live with leukemia. She said now of days they can do bone marrow transfusions but back then about a year or longer. In A Walk to Remember they never say what happens after they get married beside he has never taken off his wedding ring. She probably died soon after the wedding. He could wrap his arms around her because she had already lost so much weight. She could barley walk down the isle or even get out of bed. Nicholas left you hanging at the end of the book with unanswered questions.
After reading my classmates reactions to A Walk to Remember, frequently mentioned as a touching romance with an unexpected and devastating twist, I would like to address two of my classmates’ responses. Firstly, I think Eva Meier’s posting used lovely diction and summarized the story well. Eva remarked, “I do not understand, however, what was going through Jamie’s head when she let Carter fall in love with her... If she [Jamie] knew she was going to die, why did she not simply let Carter move on with his life?” I believe that Jamie let Landon fall in love with her because she had never had any friends her own age, and she needed a companion. Additionally, Jamie begins to like him after he agrees to act in the play with her-- something that is very important to her. After that, she includes him on her various service missions and helps him to realize that doing the right thing is not a bad thing. Through the time they spend together Jamie falls in love-- after all, she is only human.
Another posting that I enjoyed reading was Janay’s. She was blunt about how she felt about Jamie throughout the book, best described by this comment she made, “Before finding out that she had leukemia, when she had told Landon not to fall in love with her, I thought ‘please get over yourself’ – that later changed despite she was joking about it.” A question that Janay asked was “Why did Jamie never do anything about Landon’s insults towards her?” and, “How did Jamie know that Landon loves her hair being down instead of a bun?” As I understand the story, Jamie never said anything about Landon’s insults because she was not the kind of person to get mad, but also because she believes everything is written into the Lord’s plan and therefore must try to find an explanation for everything-- which sometimes drives Landon crazy and makes him even angrier. Jamie most likely knew Landon liked her hair down because the first time he said she was beautiful (and meant it) her hair was down.
As I read over my classmate’s responses to A Walk to Remember, some of the questions they asked caught my attention. Tyler posed a question I had never thought of. Did Landon ever have feelings for another girl after Jamie? I think he did. Although he was extremely heartbroken, I think he would have eventually met another girl who he felt the same feelings towards as he felt toward Jamie. Another thought on this subject is that although Landon felt that he could never do anything without Jamie, there is a time after a loved one dies where one has to pick up where you left off and keep going. Of course you will never forget that person, but over time the hurt you experienced at the beginning will fade away to a hurt that is not as awful. Another question that caught my attention was in Carter’s blog. She asked, “Why did Landon wait so long to tell her how he felt?” I think he waited for many reasons. First, because he knew his friends at school would make fun of him. He had his pride and did not want it damaged. At the time, he wanted to be popular more than he wanted Jamie. I also think that he was not sure how Jamie would react to him telling her that he loved her. Landon knew she was religious and wanted to first get to know her really well before asking anything that would offend her or make her angry. Another big reason for the delay was Jamies’s father. Because of issues between the two families before, Landon was wary. Again, I’m sure his being a religious leader affected the decision a lot. Probably mostly because Landon was not from a very religious background.
I agree with Katie Borrazzo’s evaluation of A Walk to Remember. Like her, I believe that this novel was heart breaking story. Her use of adjectives really paints a picture about her feelings about the book. In her blog, Katie was curious to know how long Jamie lived after Landon stopped telling his story. We will never know how much time they spent together as a married couple, but to Landon it did not seem like it mattered to him. Landon learned to stop fighting the inevitable, and accept the future. He did, however, make their time together brighter. Landon learned that he had to take complete advantage of the time that Jamie had left to live. He could not mope around and waste the days away.
Katie said that Jamie helped Landon realize the beauty and pain of life. At first I did not understand this statement but then I realized what she was saying was true. Jamie helped Landon see that there are many good things in life that he had been enjoying, but one day you need to gain some maturity and realize the pain in life exists too. She did not intend for him to feel badly, but she just wanted to see him grow and mature. This can definitely tie into what I said before about Landon not being able to fight the inevitable. Jamie told Landon that she knew he would fall in love with her. I think she might have been preparing him for her bad news. This was a smart idea on her part, because it helped Landon discover the true beauty’s in life and what he is capable of achieving.
A walk to remember does take place in the fifties but as Daley says can it take place now in the twenty-first century? I believe it can because love like this does not seem real and if it can happen at all it can happen now or whenever the only different would be that Landon would probably be listening to is ipod or something that would make the story more modern. Another question Daley asks is how important is it that Landon did not remarry? I think it is very important because it shows that Landon has remained faithful to Jamie years after she is gone also it shows he loved her and still does and could not let go. The idea of this makes you feel worst for Landon. Some people believe that you should not move on or forget people you loved and so this appeals to these people. Another person who asked a question that intrigued me was Eva she asked why Jamie let Landon fall in love with her, I think the answer is like the quote ‘’It is better to have love and lose than have never loved at all.’’ I guess Jamie understands something that the book does not tell you like maybe she knew Landon would grow up and also she thinks god sent him to her. Since Jamie is a firm believer in god she wants whatever god want which she thinks is Landon to fall in love with her and vice versa. Landon says he is glad he had Jamie and I think he does not care that she did that to him. He only cares that he loves her and she loved him.
Having just read my classmates reviews, comments, and questions on A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks, there are some things I agree with, and some things I don’t agree with. For instance, Catherine’s blog practically took the words right out of my mouth, and I also agree with how Carter begins her blog. However, I don’t agree with some of Norbert’s views of how the story ends.
Going back to Catherine, I felt that we had a lot of the same views. When she says “I could not stop reading this book. The ending was so perfect yet almost surprising,” I could not agree more. I read the book in less than four hours over the course of two days. When Catherine describes the ending, I had the same response. About half way through the book, I had a feeling that Jamie was going to die, but I did not see their marriage coming, until it hit me full on. Although I initially had a different idea about how the book should end, I now cannot imagine it ending any other way. Catherine got it just right!
Carter begins her blog be describing A Walk to Remember as a “tear jerker”. This is exactly how I felt, when I began my blog with “… I write this blog with a heavy heart and next to a box of tissues.” Also, I was really intrigued by Carter’s first question, “First, I was wondering if Jamie was in love with Landon first because she asked him if he would do the part?” I think that Jamie may have had feelings for Landon at the time, but I do not think that was her main reason for asking him to do the part in the play. The only other person up for the part was Eddie, and he had a terrible stutter. However, knowing Jamie’s kind hearted nature, she may have been trying to bring her father and Landon’s family closer together.
When I read Norbert’s blog, there were many things I agreed with. However, when he described the ending as a cliff hanger, I have to disagree. Norbert says “Then the book leaves on a cliff hanger and doesn't say whether Jamie dies or not.” I thought it was completely clear that Jamie died; not just her diagnosis but also Landon’s life without her made that clear to me.
I will be responding to Daley’s question (on A Walk to Remember): “I know that today we have medicine that probably would be able to cure Jamie, and this would certainly alter the story, but besides that could a love story this sweet and innocent take place today?” I believe that there could be a love story like this today. If someone is truly in love, not will they only remember them, but they will most likely dedicate a part of them to that person, of course if they are worthy of it. Whether that loved one is dead or not, if they are their first love like Jamie was to Landon, if they loved you the same way, you are going to dedicate something to them. I know a person with a similar situation like Landon. The man’s girlfriend died and he had made a promise to her that he would never marry anyone. In Landon’s case, he dedicated himself to Jamie by not remarrying.
Carter asked “Why did Landon wait so long to tell her how he felt?” I feel that Landon waited so long to tell Jamie he loved her because he was unsure of himself. When he began to like her, he might have been in denial. He and his friends teased Jamie behind her back, or used to anyway, and her physical appearance was not so great all the time. Landon thought he would never like her, or at the most a girl like her. To me, he wanted to make sure this was his true feeling. Besides, I also think that the fact that she wore her hair down had set off some of the attraction Landon had towards her.
Like i had mentioned before A Walk to Remember was an amazing book full of emotions. I would like to comment on Janay's comment. She asked a question saying " How did Jamie know that Landon loves her hair being down instead of a bun?" I would like to answer this. I think she knows this because he probably said i like it when you have your hair down. It probably didn't say it. It also could have been when he played in the play with Jamie, she had her hair down, and when he said "You look beautiful" he meant and she could tell that he did. I also would like to comment on Norbert's blog. He had said that " the book leaves on a cliff hanger and doesn't say either Jamie dies or not. I think that it is clear That she does die. I say this because Landon says that he still has the ring on. If Jamie was still alive then of course he would still have it on, but because she died he said i still have the ring on. Overall i think that A Walk to Remember is an amazing book.
I am responding to Eva's evaluation of A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. I think that Eva is right on target with saying that Landon finally saw that their is pain in everything. But another key thing I noticed is that, his time with Jamie showed him that even in the face of a painful situation, the right attitude allows you to get past those things in life. Through all of the pain, Jamie still found ways to keep a positive demeanor. Furthermore, Jamie's selflessness
is clearly seen through the whole situation as it is often seen that she worries more about Landon than her self. This is even more respectable knowing the situation she is in.
This is why this book touched me so deeply. If everyone would be more caring, the world would be a better place. The world could use more 'Jamie Sullivans.' Some questions that popped into my head while reading A Walk to Remember are why did Landon marry Jamie even though it may have hurt her even more to feel more attached to him. Do you think it makes Landon more selfish? Also, what do you think about Jamie telling Landon not to fall in love with her, almost knowing that he would?
It can be said that we all adore A Walk to Remember. First, I would like to answer Eden’s thought. She questioned why bad things always happened to good people. That is a great question, and one that is a puzzle to me, too. I think that in life, bad things happen to everyone whether they are or are not good or bad. I also think that authors, such as Nicholas Sparks, are always thinking of heartbreakers to make a story a great one. Secondly, I would like to answer two of Daley’s questions, “How important to the story is it that Landon not remarry?” and “could a love story this sweet and innocent take place today?” I, personally, do not think it is important to the story that Landon won’t remarry. However, it is a great touch! That question made me think about how much you could love a person, even in your family, but you can never replace them. For example, I had an Abyssinian guinea pig that was crazy, but I will never purchase another Abyssinian again because I do not want to feel like I may be replacing him. To answer the second question, I think that a “sweet and innocent” story like this could take place, but it is very rare. People nowadays seem to be selfish, try to look cool, and are too close-minded. Lastly, I would like to agree with Norbert’s comment, that the movie did “no justice to Nicholas Spark's touching classic.” Similarly, I saw the movie too, and I ended up falling asleep on it because it was extremely boring book. On the other hand, I disagree with him when he was not sure whether or not Jamie had died. Of course, Jamie did not die before the book came to the end, but it appears to be quite visible that she did not have long before her death.
After reading the reactions previously posted by my classmates, I would like to comment on Carter’s question. Carter posed the question on why Landon waited so long to tell Jamie how he felt about her. I think the answer can be found in the first half of the book. It is really interesting to me that two people with the opposite personalities and values could fall in love. I believe that Landon did not want to be criticized by his friends for liking her. His friends had teased him only because she tried to simply say hi to him in the beginning of the book. I thought that he didn’t want his best friend Eric Hunter to tease him especially. I think that because Eric seems to be this popular person that is praised and Landon wanted to be like that a little bit. I think that Landon thought that he had some type of status to keep up with and that going out with Jamie would hurt that because she was deemed as someone who was a little crazy.
I would also like to respond to Daley’s question of could this happen in the modern era. I think it could. I think a love like this could be held in any time period. This relationship was a special bond that really doesn’t seem to be breakable. The way Landon starts to cherish his time with Jamie is something that I believe that can happen in any time period. Maybe the time period would have some effect on whether they could fall in love. I believe they could salvage there love but not fall in love like that in the same time period. I think falling in love would be different than if they were suddenly whisked into the twenty first century while they were in love. I believe they wouldn’t fall in love because if Landon was really thinking about what others were thinking back then, I believe that would be emphasized more because the values that teenagers have today aren’t the same as back in the fifties.
After reading my classmates' blog posts about A Walk to Remember, some stood out. For example, in Daley's post, I liked it when she said, " I write this blog with a heavy heart and next to a box of tissues." I thought that was an effective way of showing how much the book affected her and her emotions. One of the Daley's questions was, "How important to the story is it that Landon not remarry?" I think that Landon not remarrying is kind of important to the story. The purpose of it is probably to show that he loves Jamie so much that he cannot imagine marrying anyone else. However, if Landon did remarry, he may have been drawn to the person if they had qualities similar to Jamie. I think that if Landon made either decision he could have shown how much he loved Jamie when she was alive and gone. But the fact that Landon does not remarry emphasizes how irrevocable his love for Jamie is.
Another blog post that I liked was Carter's, specifically the way she said that A Walk to Remember, "was definitely a tear jerker!" I also agreed with her statement that, "The play was cute because it was the same as Jamie’s family story." I agreed with that because I thought the play scene was adorable, with Landon saying, "You're beautiful," to Jamie with so much feeling and honesty. A question of Carter's is, "…why did Landon wait so long to tell her how he felt?" I think that Landon waited so long to tell Jamie how he felt for two reasons. First, there was still a part of him that was worried about his reputation. Landon changed a lot after getting to know Jamie, but his caring about what other people think was always going to be a part of him, even if it faded a little. Eric had made fun of Landon hanging out with Jamie even before he had true feelings for her, so the teasing may have had a stronger effect on him after he had feelings for Jamie. Second, telling some one you love them is a tough thing to do. Everyone who is in love has a hard time telling the person they are in love with. What if the Jamie took it as a joke? (Even though that is unlikely, Landon probably feared everything that could go wrong.) What if Jamie thought it was too early in their relationship to have such strong feelings. What if Jamie just did not love Landon back? All of those anxieties and many more were probably preventing Landon from expressing his feelings for Jamie immediately.
Katherine Zimmerman’s response to A Walk to Remember was well thought out and put together. She starts out with a brief but detailed summary of the book. The way she wrote her summary almost made me feel like she was there inside Landon and Jamie’s head. I do not understand how she could have had that affect, but I applaud her for it. Katherine’s description of Landon’s progression through high school is exactly on point. She says that the novel reveals all his likes and dislikes throughout his high school life. A Walk to Remember does exactly that. If you think in depth about the story line, you will realize the transformation that Landon went through concerning his likes and dislikes. He begins his story shying away from Jamie, but as the plot progresses, he becomes more and more attracted to her.
Katherine asked two questions in her post. The first, she was wondering how much time Landon and Jamie had together after they had gotten married. I answered a similar question in my first review and I still have the same opinion. I believe that Landon realized that the the amount of time he had with her did not matter so much. What mattered is what he chose to do in that time. He learned to accept Jamie’s illness and chose not to mope, but make a courageous, loving move and proposed. The second question Katherine asked was if Landon ever remarried. I do not believe he did. Toward the end of the novel, he begins talking about his wedding ring and how he has never had the urge to remove it. I think that is a symbol of his undying love for the Jamie.
I always enjoy reading my peer’s blogs on A Walk to Remember; they are so different and everybody goes deep into the story. I would like to start off by commenting on Nayion’s blog. He said that his favorite part was when Landon asked Jamie to the homecoming dance “because it really shows how he really didn’t care too much about her at first and how a person’s perspective can drastically change.” That statement is extremely true; however, I never thought of it that way. I thought that he simply fell in love with Jamie because love is blind and his simple acts of kindness turned into caring acts because he loved her. That is a great way to think of it, Nayion!
Next, I would like to respond to Janay’s post. Unlike her comment, “when she had told Landon not to fall in love with her, I thought ‘please get over yourself’ – that later changed despite she was joking about it,” I did not feel that she was joking about it; in fact I think that she was completely serious. Even though she probably knew that they were going to fall in love, she didn’t want to hurt him when she told him about her leukemia. “How did Jamie know that Landon loves her hair being down instead of a bun,” is a great question! I think she knew by the way Landon looked at her when she first had her hair down in the play; that was a very magical scene to me. Finally, responding to her question “Why did Jamie never do anything about Landon’s insults towards her?” I think that because Jamie was such a humble, down to earth, and spiritual girl, she did not judge people or hold grudges against them. Of course, I am sure that she may have been hurt on the inside, but it did not influence her pleasantness towards other people. I wish that I could fall in love like Landon and Jamie did, but I could never live up to this true love story.
I like Katie’s response to A Walk to Remember because she first gives a concise summary of the book. It actually refreshed my memory of the story. I agree with Katie far as her favorite part of the story, which was when Sparks talked about the Christmas play. Like Katie said, the imagery was excellent – it was also the turning point of Landon’s feelings for her. It was more of my second favorite part though. I thought the best part of the story was when Landon and Jamie got married, but she was ill at the time which can take away the happiness a little bit. Katie had asked how long did Jamie live after the story was told. Jamie most likely did not live that long after their marriage. At that point she was really ill, barely able to walk. Landon probably knew her time was coming very soon, and married her before then.
I really liked Gabby’s response to A Walk to Remember as well. I agree with many of her opinions about this book. All the emotions Gabby felt while reading this book are the ones I felt as well. Out of all emotions, I definitely cried, followed by sadness, and sometimes a little laughter. Gabby’s favorite parts were also my favorite parts, but as I said before, I still stick with the wedding as number one. Besides that scene being number one, the next scene that sticks out most to me is when Landon has an epiphany that Jamie is the one he loves. This is when they were at the orphanage on Christmas Eve – they exchanged gifts, and Jamie gave Landon her bible, which was very sweet and special.
A Walk to Remember is a good book and many people enjoy reading it for it is a good love story, but many people found it a little bit confusing. Katie Borrazzo asked how long after the marriage Jamie died, I believe it is a short time after and in the movie it says that she lives until the next summer. I am not quite sure if the book is the same but she probably lives only a short time like Katie said. Another question that I would like to answer is Janay’s about how does Jamie know that Landon likes how she looks with her hair down inside of up, I believe that she knows just because she seems that she just knows what he wants always. I also believe that she just assumes because that is how most girls look and she probably knows she is prettier like that. The question Catherine asked that seemed asked the most is why did Landon wait so long to tell Jamie he loved her I think it is because they bother knew that one another loved each other but he also was a little nervous to tell her because he had never felt that way and was in no rush to tell her until he found out that there was not enough time and he had to show her he loved her. This is the reason I believe that Landon wait, he felt no rush really until he knew he should. The other question that Catherine asked was if Jamie was in love with Jamie when she asked him to do the play, I do not think that she was but I think she knew she would be and that he was a good person at heart. She thought he was sent to her and that it was meant to be. Everyone asked really good questions that helped me really think of the story and think about the questions to refer back to the book.
Many of my classmate’s blog posts have shed new light on many aspects of A Walk to Remember. One question that caught my attention was Katie's. She asked how long did Jamie live after the story was told. Janay answered this question, but I disagree with her answer. I think that in all seriousness, that Jamie lived on in the memories of Landon and that until he dies, she won't either. The love they shared could not even be broken by lose of physical being.
Carter asked "I know Jamie read the bible every night, but did she ever understand it at the way she talked about it?" I think that Jamie did understand the bible to the extent that she talked about it. Jamie lived by the code of the bible and I think that she had been studying it since a very young age. This coupled with being the daughter of a preacher, I think that more times than not, Jamie understood what she was talking about when pertaining to the bible.
One person's blog post who I think provided great analysis was Liyana's. The part I like most was when she was talking about how Landon not remarrying and its importance to the story. I agree with everything she says. If Landon did remarry, I think some people would question the depth of the love they shared. I would not doubt their love even if Landon remarried because while they were both alive they cherished their time together.
After reflecting on my classmates’ responses to earlier posts on A Walk to Remember, I have some new comments to add to my earlier reactions. First, I would like to say that I enjoyed reading Tyler’s blog post. She provided a wonderful summary of the story and used exceptional diction and sentence variety. As she acknowledges A Walk to Remember is a tragic story, she also explains what makes it such a magical, unconditional love story. Tyler asked how much longer Jamie lived after she contracted leukemia. This is a question that I also asked in my first blog, but after reading some of my peers’ comments, I feel I can answer it. I believe that she died shortly after the end of the story. However, Nicholas Sparks clearly want the reader to predict it for his/herself.
I also enjoyed reading Liyana’s blog. She wrote an outstanding summary of the novel. Liyana contrasted the characters of Landon and Jamie especially well using precise diction. She also did a great job of stating her opinions on the book, which were integrated well with the plot summary. Liyana said that it confused her when Landon said, “ I now believe, by the way, that miracles can happen” (207). She was unsure what he was referring to when he said “miracle.” Based on my understanding of the story, the miracle is that he met Jamie. Not only that, but also that Jamie transformed him into a better person, and that he was lucky enough to have the experience of a lifetime so early in life that still had such a great impression on him forty years later.
I truly enjoyed all my peers’ thoughts on A Walk to Remember. As I read them I realized again all the deep meaning that is presented in the novel. In my opinion, everyone did a great job in putting their thoughts onto paper. But, I especially agreed with Eden’s post. She said, “I really loved this book not only because it involves love but because it really does push you to be a better person and it has many life lessons.” This statement is so true. Sparks teaches you so many lessons through this beautiful, yet loving book. The romance teaches us not to take life and things in life for granted. Jamie taught this to Landon and thus brought his family together without even realizing. Another post I would like to comment on is Eva’s. She asked an interesting question. “If she knew she was going to die (Jamie), why did she not simply let Carter move on with his life?” I think she let him fall in love with her because she loved him herself. Also, she wanted to teach him not to take things in life for granted. I know Jamie did not do this in a mean way, but it was obvious to all that she loved Landon and was willing to do a lot for him. This, to her, meant making him a better person. She wanted to make him someone who was more loving, caring, and compassionate.
As this will be my last blog on A Walk to Remember, I will write some final thoughts. When the book was first assigned, I was not happy. This meant I would not be able to read whatever book I liked over the holidays, but instead a boring novel that had been forced upon me. As you can tell from my blogs, it very quickly became the best, most amazing book I have ever read. I do not think I will ever find a book more wonderful or more incredible than this one. Or, for that matter, a couple more intensely and more devotedly in love than Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter.
I like reading over the comments that my piers write. It helps me to relate to their likes and dislikes. First, I want to comment on Eden’s comment. She asked why do bad things always happen to good people. This comment hits home to me. One of my best friends lost her dad to cancer in 2004. I met her that summer. Later the next year we had become close and she asked me, “Gabby do you know why God would have my dad die if he never did anything bad?” I honestly had no answer to her question. I did not know what she was going through, but I did say, “ I do not know, but I do know that it was not because he was a bad person. All I know is that he was not a bad person and sometimes we do not always have to know the reason. I know and you know he is not in pain and he is in a better place.” Eden I want to say I liked your comment and I hope I answered your question. Secondly, I also would like to comment on Daley’s question, “ Could a love story this sweet and innocent take place today?” I was talking to an old friend who has read everyone of Nicholas Spark’s books. She did a little research on his stories, to find out, the ones that have become movies or in the process, are taken from a true story. This one in particular happened to his uncle. So not to say that it would happen in 2010, but it was fairly recent. I hope I answered your question. Finally I would like to praise Nayion’s comment. It is not everyday when you hear a boy talk about love. I loved how he wrote about love. Good job Nayion. In conclusion, I would like to say, and I speak for everyone on this comment, that this book was outstanding, and loved reading A Walk To Remember
The first post that I would like to comment on is Eva’s. I think she really gives a clear depiction of how the book went. She starts by calling it a tear jerking story. Even though a book has never made me cry in my life, I can see where she would get that description of the book from. It was a very emotional and touching book that I believed deserved the title tear jerker. I also believe that gossip played a part in the role of their relationship but I think that it made their love stronger. I think that Jamie was smart enough to realize that others were teasing her and when Landon finally expressed his feelings she thought that that was courageous of him.
I would also like to comment on Carter’s post. I would have to agree with a comment she made about the beginning of the book. It seemed like it dragged on when introducing Landon and his family. This kind of discouraged me not to read anymore. I kept pushing through and eventually found a very inspiring book inside of what seemed to be a boring book. I thought this was a great comment to share. I thought this because if a person happened to read all of these reviews and decide to get the book, he would wonder about all the good things they are talking about because the beginning is boring. I think that this was a necessary introduction to the story and gave the reasons for some of the characters emotions like Landon and Hegbert.
As I was reading my peers responses again, I noticed a few more things. First I read Katie’s and thought about the quote is put in saying, “I’m dying Landon” (163). I think if somebody ever told me that quote, I would die myself. This book is just like all the other love stories: they start hanging out, they do something special for each other, they finally start to date, and then something bad happens to them or their family. Then Katie goes on ask, “How much longer did Jamie lived after he stopped telling the story?” So many people had this question. I have noticed that many authors do this; they get you crying, and then leave you hanging. You are like what happens next? Katie says that she thought the play was the cutest. I thought it was a way to show how they meet and thought it was cheesy! I liked it when Carter’s friends came by to tell her their sorry about what they did. I totally was not excepting that.
Then when I kept reading my other friends responses, I came to Evas. I never thought about what Jamie’s classmate thought about her. Eva said that she seemed like an alien to them. That is a different way of looking at it. She was from like another planet that nobody has ever seen. Eva brought up things that I do not ever remember reading! When Carter said that we would laugh first, and then cry, he was totally right. The funny things happened in the beginning when things we awkward with there relationship. Then I started to cry when she told him the bad news. Jamie had feeling for Carter that she could not let go. She wanted to stay with Carter for a long as she could and she knew he would accept her for the way she is and was. I disagree with Eva when she said it was unpredictable. I new something bad was going to happen bad in love stories. After I did this for a second time, it refreshed my memory and gave me new ways at looking at the book. I do not like love stories so I do not want to read other stories by Mr. Sparks, it was a tear-jerker and I do not like those!
Having read my classmates blogs for the last time, I noticed that one thing kept popping up. Almost everyone who commented on my blogs, referred back to the same question: “… could a love story this sweet and innocent take place today?” Personally, I think that the love Jamie and Landon shared was something special and would be hard to replicate. Landon falls in love with Jamie when he gets to know her. However, Jamie was an odd person who did not fit in at school and so Landon did not want to get to know her. Jamie was not concerned about her looks, and I think that in today’s society looks are more important. I believe in true love, but not in people as young as Jamie and Landon.
Eden, said that the book was “slow in getting to the main point”, but I thought that the beginning was important because it set the stage for Jamie and Landon falling in love with each other. I think that if we did not get to know these characters as well as we did, then the love between these two unlikely candidates would not mean as much as we did. Nicholas Sparks describes his characters so well, that they seem like real people. When Jamie died, I felt that a close friend of mine had just died. I know that I would not have cried very much for Jamie, if I had not gotten to know her as well as I did.
Janay, I appreciate your honesty when you say “Really I was crying for a few minutes and I had to take a short break during that time.” While reading my other classmates blog’s, I found that many people did not really open up their feelings and only gave us their opinion of the book. I really felt I could connect with your blog, because you were honest, and did not worry what others might think.
After reading the blogs on A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks, I have decided to respond to Katie and Daley’s blogs. As Katie stated she liked the author Nicholas Sparks described each character with great details especially Jaime, who was not the ordinary character you may read about in other books. He gives Jaime the very unusual characteristics because most teens do not follow the word of God as closely as she does and they do not help out in the community as much as her. This gives the story some interest and it adds to the building towards the climax and ending of the story. What really caught my attention about Daley’s blog is her question “Could a love story this sweet and innocent take place today?” I feel that a story like this would not really take place during this time period because back then teenagers took it slow and were not in a rush to do some of the things teens do now. I also said this because since they lived in such a small town they were able to connect more without electronics getting in the way of their every move. Like everyone else I really enjoyed reading this book because it stepped outside the box of the traditional romance or love story and paired two unlikely people together. That factor adds to the theme of why my classmates and I enjoyed this book so much. It is really an attention grabber as they stated and I agree I would like to continue reading books by Nicholas Sparks.
After reading my peers’ second round of blog posts about A Walk to Remember, I found some that spoke to me about the main feelings in the story. Firstly, I love Katie’s answer to one of Eva’s questions; Katie said “I believe that Jamie let Landon fall in love with her because she had never had any friends her own age, and she needed a companion.” I completely agree with Katie’s statement because I think “companion” is a great word to explain the relationship that Landon and Jamie have; not only are they lovers, but they are friends. Some relationships start out as romantic ones, and that is all they ever become—Landon and Jamie’s relationship, however, was stronger than that because they could talk to each other when they needed a friend or a lover, not just one of the two. Hence, “companion,” which means someone who is there to play whichever role you need them to play, describes Landon and Jamie’s relationship perfectly.
Another blog post that I particularly liked was Gabby’s, especially her answer to Janay’s question. Gabby said that “It [the way Jamie knew Landon liked her hair down] also could have been when he [Landon] played in the play with Jamie, she had her hair down, and when he said ‘You look beautiful’ he meant and she could tell that he did.” I really like that response because it showed me how truly important the play scene was to Jamie’s new hairstyle. At first, I thought that Jamie knew Landon liked her hair down because of a special expression he made when he saw Jamie with her hair down. Gabby’s response, however, helped me expand my opinion; I agree that Jamie knew Landon liked her hair down not only from a special look he got, but from his line in the play. I think that the special look Landon got when he saw Jamie without her bun was an ongoing thing that constantly reminded Jamie to wear her hair down, while the line in the play, “You’re beautiful,” was the turning point that was the first push for Jamie to wear her hair down.
The insight of my classmates have really opened my eyes and made the experience of reading A Walk to Remember so much more memorable. When Daly said "After I did this for a second time, it refreshed my memory and gave me new ways at looking at the book," I thinking the exact same thing. The new views introduced by others makes reading books, especially quality literature like A Walk to Remember, much more intresting.
One thing I noticed when reading my classmates blog posts, was the question of a present occurance of a love of this calibur happening. I agree with Nayion when he said "I believe they wouldn’t fall in love because if Landon was really thinking about what others were thinking back then, I believe that would be emphasized more because the values that teenagers have today". He hit it right on the head. With the main reason for youth these days going into a relationship is based purely off of looks. In the book, Landon thought that Jamie looked more attractive with her hair down, but by the time they were in love, Landon would not have cared if she wore the same boring hair and clothes everyday. That, along with the values and morals, that our generation doesn't posess, Nayion spoke of combine for a pair that will stop almost chance of a romance like theirs.
Most of my questions have been answered through my peers analysis, but some things still linger. Like why did they fall in love to begin with? I mean he saw how beautiful she was at the play and then he wanted to pursue her. So why did such a deep love sprout from such a shallow place.
